It is incredibly sad in today’s day and age, the most affordable foods are processed and deficient in nutrients. They come in convenient packaged boxes and wrappers. They don’t really fill you up and they make you crave more because you’re not getting the nutrients you need. Probably because most of the ingredients are impossible to pronounce and the food stuff was made in a lab.
People tell me that the way I eat is “too expensive”. Personally, I’d rather buy organic, grass fed meat and organic vegetables which are free of pesticides. Eating this way, I get the nutrients my body needs AND I don’t need to eat as much of it because OF the nutrients available in whole foods.
I’d rather spend the money on good food than get sick from cheap crap food and then have to spend money at the doctor’s followed by medication. Doctors do not have our best interests at heart. They get a cut from whatever meds they peddle to patients. Plus they don’t have any nutrition knowledge, only the food pyramid guidelines which is a bunch of bollocks. What sane person eats 6-11 serves of grains anyway? No wonder everyone is getting sick and fat.
So here’s what I am getting at… What is your worth? Are YOU worth paying the extra dollars to eat better quality foods? Do you want to spend the rest of your life going to the doctor and being on medication when it’s obvious that food IS your medicine?
Are you worth spending the time to prepare good meals at home? Did you know that it is 70% diet and 30% exercise is what keeps us in shape? We are not meant to be overweight.
When you weigh everything out – clean, organic, whole foods with exercise versus cheap, dirty, processed foods and no exercise = health conditions… the latter is more expensive.
I always hear, “I can’t afford it” – but you can afford booze and cigarettes? Just doesn’t make sense to me.
Or another favourite “I don’t have time.” You have to make time. If you don’t make time for what’s important, then sooner or later, you’ll have to make time for sickness. You’ll spend all your pay on medication and going to the doctor.
Life should be enjoyed with lots of energy and happiness. I see so many people looking depressed and overweight – how is that happiness? How is that enjoying life? How much is your health worth to you?
I hope I’ve given you something to think about. Take your happiness and health into your own hands. Question everything your doctor tells you and do your own research. Make informed choices. Use your common sense. Because you are worth it…
