I love this place! I’ve been here twice, once for lunch and once for an early dinner/snack 🙂
Food is always tasty, wine selection is excellent and customer service is awesome. We always seem to get the same waitress, she is very knowledgeable with her wines. And if you don’t know what something else is on the menu, you can always ask.
It’s not cheap, but the quality of food is very high and you can taste the love that goes into it.
It is tapas style, I would put this in a category before fine dining. It’s not a cafe, but you can still go there for breakfast and a coffee.
One of my favourite places to dine, I would definitely come here again!
Let’s get to the food…
1st visit – I came here with Hannah (author of Love Thy Food and Uncooked) and her gorgeous daughter, Miss 2-almost-3. She dressed up especially for our lunch date 🙂 Hannah and I indulged in a lovely light refreshing spanish white wine. Little Miss had a baby cino… Two, to be precise! (it was because she was too cute!)
We ordered the following dishes:
- croqueta – sweetcorn & manchego
- mushrooms, px vinegar, valdeón, walnuts
- slow braised beef cheek, pumpkin goats curd, beetroot
- pork belly, cauliflower puree, pickled cabbage, apple jam & praline
Every dish was delicious, although I thought maybe the pork belly could have used more of a braise to make the meat more melt-in-your-mouth. The slow braised beef cheek was sensational, it was very tender and rich – think it was my favourite dish!
2nd visit – Miss Kuah and I had our catch up here before she jet-setted off to Japan. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of our food. We enjoyed a very nice red wine, very light for a lovely Spring afternoon.
Dishes we shared:
- prawn & chorizo paella balls with papriki aioli
- eggplant, pepperonata & haloumi
- chicken tenderloin, preserved lemon cream & cous cous
Oh my god, everything was SO delicious. I loved the eggplant/pepperonata/haloumi dish but the chicken tenderloin and preserved lemon cream had to be my favourite – a very memorable dish. I didn’t know chicken tenderloins would be so tender!
My rating – Very highly recommended! The food, service and wine list are awesome. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available here. I’m looking forward to trying out the brekky in the near future 😀
