I never really understood essential oils. Didn’t understand their power or what they were for.
Sometime in 2012, I was first exposed to essential oils when I was looking for something to increase my progesterone levels. I came across Young Living’s Phyto Progessence Plus.
I ended up feeling very itchy, developed a rash and my skin started peeling. So I stopped using it. And that was the end of that!
Come to 2014, I run into the oils again through some of the members of the Perth Health & Wellbeing crew. This mob was into the competitor of Young Living called doTERRA. doTERRA was founded by a few people that were apparently fired from Young Living. All sorts of lovely lawsuits were being filed against each other, blah blah blah.
Anywhoo, it became a battle of the essential oils companies. I don’t like bagging one or the other… but Young Living have been around for about 20 years, whilst doTERRA is only about 7 years (this year). I have accounts with both brands. Young Living have a larger range than doTERRA… because they have been around a lot longer.
Let’s get back on track, I’m not sure what got me back onto the oils. But I learnt how to use them properly with some advice from a few advocates. The best way is the bottoms of the feet or the actual organ you are trying to heal. And I found that you are actually meant to dilute the oils in a carrier oil.
Another great way is to diffuse the oils in a diffuser. I have the Aroma Living one in fuschia 🙂
What can Essential Oils do for you?
Well, it can help with everything in your life.
And the amazing thing with oils is that your body knows what it needs. If you find yourself gravitating towards a particular scent, then it’s what you probably need.
There are the main staples for cleansing/detoxing such as lemon and grapefruit which you can add to your water. And grapefruit when combined with a carrier oil is said to help with cellulite! Score!
If you have a cold, a cough, sore throat or any type of respiratory issues – the Breathe blend is amazing! Mix a couple of drops with some fractionated coconut oil and rub it on your chest. Then breathe in the remaining scent from your hands. And diffusing it also makes a big difference in your recovery. Just ask my hubby 🙂
This is just the tip of the iceberg, I will be writing more on essential oils. If you would like to learn more, please contact me 🙂
