WHERE I SHOP

Many of you have asked where I buy my produce, groceries and appliances from. This page will be ongoing, so not everything is here. I will be adding to it as I come across suppliers 🙂

Farmer’s Markets

I like the farmer’s markets for reasonably priced organic and local produce.

Contarf Farmer’s Markets – I go to these markets the most as it’s only 10 minutes away from me, maybe less. It’s probably the biggest markets out of the lot. They have a great range of organic produce, there’s usually 3 or 4 organic veggie stores. Bathing milk is available from one of the stalls, look and you shall find 😛 There’s also a coffee van there that does coffee with your choice of almond, coconut, rice and oat milks!

Perth City Farm Markets – I haven’t been to these markets as yet, but it has a cafe which has delicious food 🙂

Mount Claremont Farmer’s Markets – Smallish markets, same produce as other market, but a little more expensive – it is Mount Claremont, after all 😛

Poynter Farmer’s Markets –  This is probably the smallest market out of the lot, very family oriented.

South Freo Farmer’s Markets – My favourite market, but also a bit of hike for us. Very awesome atmosphere, everyone is really friendly and you can just chill and relax, especially when the weather is beautiful! I found the range of organic produce here not the best, probably only one stall!

Stirling Farmer’s Markets – I’d have to say this market is the one with the less atmosphere, too much concrete for my liking really. I go here when I need produce and it’s easy markets where you can just grab what you need and get out.

Subiaco Farmer’s Markets – Has a variety of stalls, not a lot of organic from memory though… I felt that the stalls were a little crammed in.

Supermarkets

Peaches Fresh – South Fremantle
I like how you have options of organic or conventional produce. You can get organic produce at reasonable prices here.
If you are looking for bathing milk, it is available here.

Organic on Charles – North Perth
Organic veggies available here and bathing milk.

The Boatshed Markets – Cottesloe
With the veggies, like Peaches, they have options of organic and conventional produce. Their organic range is a bit more expensive here than Peaches. They also have some great cheeses and in the deli, they have some delicious salads available if you don’t feel like cooking!

The People’s Market Perth – Online
I just tested this one out, I got my box delivered to a hub in Como.

Winthrop IGA
This is better than it used to be and they have an awesome range of veggies, locally grown. They also have a decent organic products range. I shop here when I am visiting my parents 🙂

The Organic Circle – Online
I get my veggies delivered to a local hub. This saves me time and money as I don’t spend so much time driving to South Fremantle and wasting hours in the shops.

Grassfed Meat / Free Range

Note: Grassfed & Organic meat is expensive. Good news is that Coles and Woolworths now provide grassfed/organic meat.

Franks Gourmet Meats – Fremantle
Love this place! They stock Dandaragan Organic Beef. They also have wild gamey produce for you to choose from if that’s your thing. Buffalo, venison, kangaroo, emu, crocodile… the list is endless!
Frank and his team are awesome and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Mondo’s – Inglewood
This place does organic beef mince which is good, I’m not sure who they use for their organic meat though. I love the grass-fed veal cutlets from here too. They also have a large cheese selection as well as other produce.

The Boatshed Markets – Cottesloe
The organic beef is Cape Grim, I think the last I saw, they were also doing Blackwood Valley range as well.

The Gourmet – Online
You can by bulk grass fed beef here, cheaper than buying at the places above – good if you have the space in your freezer.

Seafood

Redfin Fresh – Victoria Park

The Boatshed Markets – Cottesloe
If you want fresh sashimi, this is the place to get it from! They also have oysters sold in a pack of a dozen (prices fluctuate, cheaper during the week and they up the prices on the weekends).

Partridges – Nedlands
Another supplier of fresh sashimi grade produce!

Found this in the basement of our apartment building. Someone obviously didn’t like their valentine... . . . #valentines #valentinesday #valentinesgift #bemyvalentine #valentinesday2020 Zak’s lunchbox for today... he won’t eat the cucumber! When I don’t put it in there, he always asks where’s the veggies, even though he doesn’t eat them. Expose, expose, expose. I tell him he doesn’t have to eat it. . . . . #pickyeater #pickyeaters #extremepickyeating #mumlife #sahm #sahmlife #yumbox #yumboxlunch #schoollunch #schoollunchideasthstarenutfree My big little man’s last day at daycare before kindy at big boy school! Zak has loved daycare, been going to the same one since he was a weee little 18 months old. The daycare he goes to has all sorts of activities and incursions, as well as Pyjama Drama and turtle walks by the South Perth foreshore, which Zak loved. Thanks @studio64group for everything, great educators and environment . . . #perthmum #kindykid #sahm #sahmlife #myboy #daycarelife #mylife

The mushroom carpaccio and the massaged kale salad. I actually blanched the kale for a minute or less as raw kale wreaks havoc on the thyroid. I also added some leftover avocado to the dressing. Yummy delicious and I’m not even vegan. . . . #veganrecipes #veganfood #homecook #healthylifestyle #healthychoices #salad #cooked #nourish #nutrition #jerf
